Market Place, Richmond, N Yorks circa 1890

VP 048

Few photographs remain of Richmond market place from this period, when the church was surrounded by a random collection of Georgain buildings, now demolished. This is an intriguing record of a typical market day complete with stalls and wagons. The two small boys in the centre of the picture are posing for the camera.
