King Edward VII entering Barnard Castle, 1907

Elijah Yeoman

YB 044

Seen here crossing the County Bridge as he enters Barnard Castle, King Edward VII was on his way to Raby Castle, probably for a shooting party. It is reported that he did not stop in the town, despite the obvious support of the local people for their King.
